Bevv has a Bachelor of Science in Education and
Psychology form Ohio State
University, an associate degree in
science/interior design technology from St.
Petersburg Junior college, In addition to these
academic accomplishments she holds a number of
other distinctions, nutrition/exercise instructor,
black belt and coach.
In 1987 B e v v Beirl established
and supervised the "On Target" wellness program
at Morton Plant Hospital, the largest hospital in
the Tampa Bay area.
Ms. Beirl was one of the four
developers of SAGE Services, Inc., A 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization and has served as the
Executive director since it’s inception. SAGE is
an education and prevention driven organization
that concentrates on personal safety and
empowerment issues for women.
As an educator, Ms. Beirl has
personally presented programs focused on personal
safety, self-defense, self-esteem, health,
nutrition and rape prevention to over 10,000 women
in the Bay area.
As a personal safety expert, Ms.
Beirl was featured on a 13-segment program on the
Fox Network nightly news. During those segments,
Ms. Beirl taught anchorwoman, Kathy Fountain
techniques for getting away from an attacker. Ms.
Beirl now educates Bay area women through a wide
variety of mediums regarding women’s safety.
In November 1996, Ms. Beirl served
as event director for the Friends Across the
Bay fundraiser to benefit the domestic
violence shelters and SAGE Services Inc. The first
time the event was extremely successful and netted
over $33,000 for the victims of domestic and
sexual violence.
B e v v Beirl and SAGE Services
Inc. were awarded a 3 year grant from the
Department of Health in l997. The grant was for
rape prevention with an emphasis on building self
esteem.
Ms. Beirl is a guest columnist for
the local newspaper and women’s magazine. Her
column Be on The Safe Side imparts
valuable safety tips regarding, child safety,
personal safety, and empowerment.
B e v v Beirl has been "coaching"
for 25 years. In 2001 she decided to formalize
her activities into a private coaching practice.
