Comes Naturally

Consulting with small business owners and preparing their financial statements comes naturally to Rosa Chavarria, whose father owned his own business in Cuba and also in the U.S. after the family emigrated in 1961. They were political refugees and a church organization moved them to Michigan after a brief stay in Miami. Four years later they joined family in New Jersey and in 1971 they made it back to Florida and warm weather again.

“In Tampa, my father owned a Latin grocery store and all four of us kids helped out in the business,” says Rosa, who started her accounting business by providing contract labor out of her home when her children were young. When the kids became older, Rosa started her own accounting business and later joined Whittemore & Carrigan as a partner. Her office is located in the Northdale area of Tampa.
