What Was Given To Her...

Maureen Georgy had very influential dentists – they inspired her to become a dentist. “There has never been anything else I’ve wanted to do,” says Egyptian-born Maureen, who has been practicing dentistry since 2000. “I had so many things done to my teeth, including surgery to push back my jaw and braces two different times, and it changed me so much. I wanted to do that for others.”

Maureen was 13 when her mother died of breast cancer and her father moved the family from Cairo to Canada . She would observe the dentists working on her and came to be mentored by one dentist in particular. After dentistry school in Cleveland , Maureen moved to Tampa , where she has “lots and lots” of family. At the practice she co-owns, she especially enjoys doing cosmetic work because, she says, she remembers how much the dental work she had changed her life.
